Working With Me

Trauma-Informed Counselling
Trauma-informed counselling forms the foundation of my work.
This is the talking part of therapy... a space where you can speak freely, and really be heard.
Then we begin to make sense of what you’re experiencing and meet that experience with compassion.
I work with the understanding that people’s responses make sense in the context of what they’ve lived through. Being trauma-informed means I don’t try to fix, rush, or override your experience. I aim to walk alongside you, meet you with compassion, and see the world through your lens, at your pace.
Talking is the road we take to find the heart of the work. It’s about creating enough safety and understanding between us for deeper work to become possible.
Somatic Therapy
Somatic therapy works with the body and nervous system, not just thoughts or memory.
Here, we pay attention to sensations, emotions, impulses, and nervous system responses in the present moment. I draw on somatic approaches, nervous system education, and practices like somatic resourcing and embodiment, to help you understand how your body has learned to survive.
This is often where things begin to shift - not by forcing change, but by helping your system feel safe enough to soften and reorganise.
You don’t need to relive the past for this work to be effective. We move slowly for safety. Encouraging choice and autonomy throughout the process.

Trauma Processing
I do not offer trauma processing to clients until we have established a safe environment to go forward.
Trauma processing is carefully paced and led by your nervous system. We only go here if and when it feels right, and we always prioritise regulation and choice over intensity.
This work uses bilateral stimulation of the nervous system, tapping and eye-movement based approaches.
I also use parts-based approaches (informed by IFS) to help experiences that feel stuck begin to move and settle. It’s a more focused way of working with specific memories, patterns, or emotional responses - but it’s always optional.
Soul & Younger
Self Work
Alongside nervous-system work, I also offer space for soul-led and recognition of the younger self work.
This can involve connecting with younger parts of you (the inner child), exploring meaning, creativity, and emotion, and gently meeting aspects of yourself that didn’t get what they needed earlier in life.
This work isn’t about bypassing or fixing - it’s about deep listening, compassion, and integration. For many people, it brings a sense of wholeness, softness, and reconnection that purely cognitive approaches can’t reach.
